Leazes Homes is an affordable housing provider based in Newcastle upon Tyne in the North East of England. We offer a range of housing options to those in need, from family homes to supported living for older people and those with additional care needs. Our lettings policy is available here: Leazes Homes Lettings Policy
Our history: Leazes Homes was set up in 2009 by Newcastle City Council and became an independent charity, limited by guarantee to provide social housing, in 2012. Leazes Homes returned to the Your Homes Newcastle Group (Newcastle City Council’s ALMO for housing) as a community benefit society in August 2021. In June 2024, the partnership with Your Homes Newcastle came to a close and Leazes Homes became a subsidiary of Karbon Homes which now provides its services.
Leazes Homes is registered in England and Wales with the Financial Conduct Authority registration number 8692. Our Board is chaired by Dawn Keightley – you can find out more about our Board Members here. Leazes Homes’ charitable objects are to provide affordable homes and support for people in need by:
- the efficient development of new social housing
- becoming a preferred partner of organisations in the social housing field
- becoming a landlord of choice for social housing tenants in the north east
- developing a specific focus on special needs developments.
You can discover more about how we do this on various other pages of this website. Leazes Homes is regulated by the Regulator of Social Housing. Leazes Homes subscribes to the Housing Ombudsman Service, a free, independent and impartial service that looks at complaints about registered providers of social housing. If you have a complaint please see Karbon’s Complaints Policy. To find out more about the Housing Ombudsman visit their site.
